Carmen Brammer

Carmen Brammer, writer, activist and community organizer, will be our guest. She will both lecture and conduct a brief workshop that leads students through the history of the vote (e.g., everything from, voter suppression tactics like poll taxes and personal threats to the obsolescence of the electoral college). Brammer will also lead students through a discussion on the mandate, that is, helping students realize their agency in our democracy and their responsibility to advocate for equity and justice.

This in-person event is open to San José State University students/faculty/staff on October 24, 2025 @ 5:00-6:30PM, WSQ Hall. ROOM 207.

Carmen Brammer’s Bio:
Brammer is the CEO/Founder of Global Majority Consulting (GMC). GMC’s mission is empowering Santa Clara County’s Black and Brown communities to address inequities and transform the political landscape with access to resources, education, civic engagement and advocacy.
